To check whether a user is authorized to obtain a certain (online)
service, he is often asked for some identity information. This leads to
privacy concerns. In many cases however, it suffices to check that the
(anonymous) user is authorized to obtain the service.
The system Idemix (developed by IBM) implements this idea by letting the
user communicate under a pseudonym.
I have studied the question whether it is possible to integrate a smart
card in Idemix. The complicating factor is the relatively small
computing power and storage capacities of the smart card, while Idemix
uses heavy mathematical operations.
In my presentation I will show the results of my research, which is done
as an internship at TNO ICT.
The presentation will be in Dutch, while the slides are in English.
